Nokia 3250 music phone unveiled

28th September, 2005: Mobile phone manufacturers Nokia has unveiled its latest music phone - the Nokia 3250. The phone has dedicated music keys and can store upto 750 songs.

The Nokia 3250 features a unique twist design which can be twisted to transform the traditional keypad to a set of dedicated music keys. The phone has 1 GB memory, which inturn can store almost 750 high quality songs.

The XpressMusic feature brand, also introduced today, makes it easier for consumers to identify those Nokia devices which are specifically designed to listen to music," says Kai Öistämö, Senior Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia. "One of the first devices to feature the XpressMusic mark is the Nokia 3250, which is going to stop music fans in their (favourite) tracks. Its unique twist design makes it quick and easy to switch between the music keys, the regular keypad and the camera mode."

The Nokia 3250 offers 10 hours of music play. The phone comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera and smartphone capabilities. The phone model which supports triband GSM 900/1800/1900 is expected to hit the stores in the first quarter of 2006. The estimated retail price of the phone is 350 Euros before subsidies or taxes. 

The most attractive feature of Nokia 3250 is the "twist" feature, using which the customer can transform the traditional mobile phone keypad to a music phone keypad. All the major digital music formats such as MP3, WMA, M4A and AAC are supported by the phone, which makes it easy to load and transfer music. Moreover, songs can be downloaded over-the-air on the go and favourite songs can be selected as ringtones. The memory cards are MicroSD cards of 1 GB memory capacity. The mobile phone has a Visual Radio Client, which makes it a music phone by all means.

The phone incorporates the Nokia Audio Manager software, using which the users can convert CDs to digital music files. Using the "drag and drop" feature, the users can drag and drop their personal music collections and favourite play lists directly from the computer. 

Nokia is trying to make the Nokia 3250 compatible with a number of accessories from leading brands like Bose®, Harman Kardon®, JBL® and Sennheiser Electronic.

The Nokia 3250 has a 2 mega-pixel camera which comes activated in landscape mode by twisting the phone's keypad by 90 degrees. The photos taken using the 2 mega-pixel camera offers high quality. The phone has Bluetooth technology by which we can transfer files from one Bluetooth device to another. The images can be transferred using the MMS technology also. 

The Nokia 3250 which works on the Series 60 platform and Symbian OS, offers a talktime of upto 3 hours. Third party application developers can create their own music applications and these can be downloaded and installed on the Nokia 3250.
